📝 Match Preview: Cambridge United (A)

After Tuesday's record breaking away win at Cheltenham, the Grecians are back on the road this weekend as they face Cambridge United at the Abbey Stadium.

The U's dumped City out of the FA Cup last season at the same venue - in controversial circumstances - and Matt Taylor's side will be keen to right the wrongs and continue their impressive start to the League One season.

All three of Cambridge's matches this season have ended 1-0, the most recent a defeat at Oxford United last weekend, while the Grecians were of course in action on Tuesday in that incredible 7-0 victory.

Matt Taylor's view

Matt Taylor has given his thoughts as City prepare to take on Cambridge United this weekend.

Following the record breaking 7-0 win on Tuesday, the Grecians are raring to go to face a U's side who have started the season with two 1-0 wins and 1-0 defeat.

"They have a good team and a good manager, and they've had two superb results, and beat Championship side Millwall in the cup," he said.

"We know what we're coming up against and it'll be another level on what we've already faced this season. It'll be a serious game of football and we have to be a serious team.

"Serious teams have to back themselves up with a serious performance. It'll be a tight game as they look strong defensively. They've got the spirit and character in their team."
