The Grecians have the opportunity to make it into Round Three of the Carabao Cup for the first time since 1989 when they head to Kent to face Gillingham at the MEMS Priestfield.
Not since Terry Cooper led his side to fourth round replay with Sunderland have City reached that stage of the competition, with round two proving a stumbling block on six occasions since then, most recently away at Fulham in 2018.
Gillingham were last in the third round two years ago, beating Southend and Coventry before being beaten 1-0 at Stoke City.
Both sides come into this game having drawn a blank at the weekend, with City losing 1-0 at home to Cheltenham while Gills were held to a goalless draw by Walsall on their own patch.
