Matt Taylor has given his assessment as City were beaten 1-0 by Cheltenham Town at SJP on Saturday afternoon.
Dan N'Lundulu's second half goal handed the Grecians a first home defeat of the Sky Bet League One season.
"It was frustrating from start to finish," Matt said.
"They came here with a clear game plan, to frustrate and deny, and it's worked down to a tee. We allowed it to work, to a certain extent.
"The goal is a really poor one to concede. It was also pretty clear that any time in the game was going to be taken out by the opposition.
"We actually started the game pretty well and should have had a penalty, that's another decision that didn't go our way, and that feels like a long time ago."
