This month’s Exeter City Foundation BIG winner and our last winner for 2022 is Jeanne Jones, scooping a cool £1,000, which goes towards a ‘trip of a lifetime’ Jeanne and husband Dave plan for a cruise around the Caribbean.
Jeanne and Dave are both volunteers who are well known at the Club - Jeanne helping out with the Junior Grecians amongst other things and Dave being the voice on the end of the phone if you’ve ever enquired or bought match-day tickets that way. So we have very deserving winners this month!
As can be seen from our photo, Jeanne has to use a wheelchair, none-the-less she and Dave have travelled the length and breadth of the country following the Grecians, we thought it would be interesting to hear some of her stories.
Jeanne says: "Most places we go people couldn’t be nicer. Oxford is a particular favourite because of the location of the disabled seats, being surrounded by fellow Away fans. But we have been so well treated at many, including Leyton Orient, Accrington, Carlisle and Morecambe."
Those where things could be done better - without naming names - include a certain northern City famed for its hot food, where she encountered a very brusque and rude steward, and a certain southern neighbour where Jeanne in particular did not feel safe watching the match.
Jeanne can be seen in our photo in her wheelchair, well wrapped up on a freezing afternoon at the recent match vs Sheffield Wednesday, together with retiring Foundation Administrator Richard Horne.
The Exeter City Foundation is a great deal, especially for City supporters. Being in the draw makes you eligible for 64 cash prizes throughout the year. Members who are season ticket holders have the additional benefit of the end-of-season cash back or a voucher for the ECFC Shop. With current restrictions you can only join on-line – see link - and prizes are paid direct to winners’ bank accounts.
