Cheick Diabate expressed his delight at making his senior league debut despite City's defeat to Sutton United.
The defender impressed in the 65 minutes he played at the VBS Community Stadium and after the game he thought the team deserved more out of the game.
"It's a shame we didn't come away with three points. Unfortuantely it wasn't to be today but we move on and keep our heads up."
Cheick's involvement reaped praise from the manager but the 20-year-old says it's a long time in the making.
"Ever since I joined the club at 16, my heading is what I have been working on ith the coaches. Matt Taylor as a centre-half is big on that. Tonight playing against better player I learned a lot but I still think there's room for improvement."
