Matt Taylor gave his thoughts as his makeshift back three helped City earn a hard fought 0-0 draw against runaway league leaders Forest Green Rovers.
Taylor drafted in centre midfielder Harry Kite into his defence alongside Cheick Diabate and Jonathan Grounds, and the trio reduced the home side to minimal chances.
"That was a top quality performance," Matt said.
"After Saturday I asked them to make that extra pass. We had a couple of extra bodies back and a few more days training, and that perfromance deserved more than a point.
"The team selection was a simple one again tonight. There were a lot of pleasing performances, but unfortunately no wins to show for it.
"It was a really positive night."
