We've been informed by the EFL that our pitch has been rated well above the average for the division by the Playing Surfaces Committee.
The Playing Surfaces Committee, which accumulates the marks given by the match referee and visiting managers, have praised the St James Park surface as being one of the best in League Two.
This recognition is testament to the work of head groundsman Chaz Woolnough and his team, who have worked tirelessly on the surface since an extensive renovation of the playing surface in the summer.
