Matt Taylor was impressed with his sides performance as they drew 2-2 at Championship side Bristol City in their latest pre-season friendly.
Josh Coley and Alex Hartridge had put the Grecians 2-0 in the searing heat at the High Performance Centre, but a double from the Robins’ Tommy Conway meant the two sides settled for a draw.
“We were excellent today, in and out of possession,” Matt said of his side.
“We had plenty of chances and probably should have been out of sight and as much as I said on Saturday about hoping the players have learnt a lot about themselves, I hope they’ve learned today about seeing games out.
“It probably hurts a little more because we were so comfortable, but today was a plus, just like Saturday was a plus in the end.”
