Exeter City manager Matt Taylor has given his reaction after the Grecians were held to a 1-1 draw at Yeovil Town on Saturday.
The pre-season friendly, played in swealtering conditions, was against the toughest opponents so far in the National League side.
The Glovers' Knowles pounced on a defensive error midway through the first half, before the Grecians captain Matt Jay made the most of a fortuitous deflection inside the six yard box to level the scores.
Speaking after the match, Matt said: We were very rusty today, and way off it in the first 25 minutes of the game in terms of our collective intent.
"We got punished with their goal and then MJ took his goal well to get us level, then the game derailed with no real quality or connection.
"It was a disjointed day for us but probably the perfect day for some of the personel to remind themselves what they need to do."
