We are delighted to announce that Jonathan Grounds will remain with the club for the 2022/23 League One season having signed a new one year deal.
The 34-year-old's contract was due to expire at the end of this month, but Grounds has opted to accept a new deal as City embark on a third tier season for the first time in ten years.
Grounds made 22 appearances for the promotion winning Grecians last season, scoring two goals - one of which was crucial to our stunning 4-3 comeback victory over Harrogate Town in February. He also scored against his former club Swindon Town in March as the club began their ascent to the automatic places in League Two.
Jonathan will be giving his reaction to his new deal later this afternoon, when we catch up with him at the club's training camp at the Vale Resort, South Wales.
