Matt Taylor was pleased with his sides second half response as Exeter City ran out 2-0 winners away to Oldham.
Chatting after the game Taylor highlighted the nerves that were on show in the first period and how his team reacted at the break.
"Both teams needed three points today for different reasons. There was little quality to start the game. In the second half we got the ball closer to the Oldham box and we got the goal.
"From that point on I felt comfortable until a couple of moments of ill-discipline. The penalty and the red card pput us on the back foot but we got the second goal to round off a crazy half-an-hour."
The gaffer heaped praise on his back three.
"What a fantastic save from Cam, but even at the time we had to deal with set-pieces and corners. The back three got better and better as the game went on."
The manager gave an update on goalscorer Kyle Taylor, who was stretchered off mid-way through the second half.
"It doesn't look good. His studs got stuck and when he's turning one way his knee was locked in the opposite direction. He's in the changing room with the lads so he's not in too much pain right now. He'll be assessed but first impressions are that it's not good."
