Exeter City Football Club is pleased to announce that Kevin Nicholson has been appointed as assistant manager.
Kevin, who has been with the club since 2019, has already been working closely with first team manager Gary Caldwell and will take up the position immediately.
We also welcome David Perkins to the club, who has been appointed to the position of first team and under 23s coach. Former midfielder David has played for Barnsley, Blackpool and Wigan and was most recently at AFC Fylde.
Club president and director of football, Julian Tagg, said: "We are delighted that Kevin has accepted the offer to become assistant manager. It’s been fantastic to see him already working so closely with Gary and I think their individual skillsets will work very well together.
"The appointment of David Perkins, who brings a great deal of experience across the leagues, also further strengthens the bootroom team."
Nick Hawker, chair of Exeter City Supporters’ Trust, said: “We have great confidence in both of these appointments. As with any organisation, changes in staffing can be challenging, but we can be reassured that Kevin and David, both of whom bring a wealth of skill and talent, in these roles will be of great benefit to the club.”
Goalkeeping coach Scott Brown will be leaving the club following the match against Peterborough on Saturday and the position will be advertised externally. In addition, club physio Gareth Law has tendered his resignation and will leave the club once he has served his one month notice period.
Nick added: “We are disappointed to lose both Scott and Gareth, they’ve both been extremely dedicated and exceptional for the club and we wish them both all the best for the future."
We will be catching up with David Perkins and Kevin to discuss their roles!
