Tim Dieng was ecstatic post-match after his towering header was one of the goals in The Grecians stunning 3-2 win over The Posh, giving Gary Caldwell a win on his home debut.
“It was tough game, a lot of things happened, the boys showed character, we obviously went 1-0 up, to one down and then the last ten minutes were great, a very important three points today.
In regard to his injury Tim had this to say, “It was tough to be out, and I had to work hard to get my fitness back, I feel good and happy to be back on the scoresheet today and I am ready to keep going.
“That was a great ball (Jevani assist), I couldn’t miss. Credit to him, he is on fire at the moment, everything he does ends up as a goal or an assist,” Tim said after scoring the opening goal.
“We know that if there is still time to play, we know that we have got the quality and the energy too score goals towards the end of the game. Credit to Max and the rest of the staff that work us hard every day in training to keep our fitness up.
“The last few weeks have been a little weird with new people coming in nearly every week, but now that we know everyone and it’s going to be stable. It’s good and we needed stability.”
