📝 Match Preview: Charlton Athletic (A)

The third game of Kevin Nicholson and Jon Hill's interim tenure sees the Grecians head to the capital on Tuesday night to take on Charlton Athletic at the Valley.

After wins over Southampton under-21 and Barnsley in their first two matches, the pair will be looking to lead the side to third victory on the spin against a Charlton side who have not won in the league since a 5-1 demolition of Plymouth in August.

They drew 0-0 at Lincoln at the weekend - their sixth draw in eight league matches - which suggests that while they are struggling to find wins, they are also a tough nut to crack at the other end.

This will be The Grecians' first trip to the Valley since 10 September, 2011, when the home side won 2-0.

Archie Collins' Thoughts

Collins played a pivotal midfield role in Saturday's 2-0 win at Barnsley with a suprb performance, but says the side must back it up again on Tuesday at the Valley.

"That will be the toughest thing to do but we have the opportunity to do it," he said.

"The boys up top have been on fire recently and it shows that we're suited in this league. The whole team is full of good footballers and we have to keep on building on what we have.

"We get to express ourselves and we enjoy it."
