👏 Party at the Park raises £4000!

This year’s Exeter City fun day at St James Park, which attracted hundreds of people, has raised more than £4,000.

The funds will be split between the football club’s charity partner Exeter City Community Trust, and the club’s ‘Kit out the Cliff’ campaign, which is raising money for fixtures, fittings and equipment at the new development at the Cliff Hill Training Ground.

Hundreds of people attended the free fun day, which included music, entertainment and appearances from both the Exeter City first team squad and Exeter City Women.

The campaign to ‘Kit Out the Cliff’ has been very well supported. To date the campaign has raised more than £43,000 of its £60,000 target. The £2,000 raised from the fun day has contributed to this total.

The £3 million development is on schedule for completion early next year. It will provide a new and larger fitness suite, separate canteen facilities, larger changing and physiotherapy facilities, improved office accommodation and multi-use theatre/match preparation/classroom space. The project is expected to be complete by the end of January 2023.

Club director Elaine Davis, who is leading the fundraising campaign, said: “We’re very grateful for this contribution from the fun day. It was fantastic to see so many people enjoying themselves at St James Park, and to raise this amount is just wonderful.”

Exeter City Community Trust will use the proceeds to support its work in the community. Jamie Vittles, chief executive of Exeter City Community Trust, said they were delighted to receive a share of the fun day proceeds.

He added: "The Family Fun Day is always a highlight in the calendar here at St James Park and we are absolutely thrilled by the amount raised in support of Exeter City Community Trust and the Kit Out the Cliff campaign. Once again, City supporters have shown their generosity and spirit and we will be sure to utilise these funds to help those most in need in our community.”
