Here is what the PFA had to say about this month's nominations:

"The EFL League One nominees for September are dominated by forwards, but Exeter's Jevani Brown fronts the list with a second straight nomination following his hattrick against his former side Forest Green Rovers.

"Conor Chaplin, Devante Cole, and Ellis Harrison also had three goals in four games in September, but Morgan Whittaker's proved most valuable as his last goal of the month was the winner in a comeback victory over Ipswich Town, which saw Plymouth Argyle leapfrog their opponents to the top of League One.

At the opposite end of the table, it was a patchy month for playoff hopefuls Wycombe Wanderers, but Albanian winger Anis Mehmeti continued to fire in front of goal with two goals and an assist."
