Exeter City’s 4-0 victory over Forest Green Rovers means there’s another chance for a south west sports’ club to win £500 - thanks to club sponsor Carpetright.
The We Win You Win competition sees Carpetright donate £500 to a south west grass roots club every time Exeter City win a game. And it doesn’t have to be football – the team which won following our match against MK Dons on September 3 were the Exeter Starlites cheerleaders.
Starlites are a squad of cheerleaders who have both recreational and competitive teams ranging from four years old to adults. Amy Wilson, who applied for the fund on behalf of Exeter Starlites, said: “The girls showcase their talents in various displays and carnivals, and they also compete at a national level. They all train so hard and put their all into this sport.
“Any funds for equipment or outfits have to be funded by the parents or fundraised by the committee, but since Covid this has become harder. There are various items we need including mats which costs thousands, so the £500 would really help us out.”
