Exeter City Women will look to continue their good start to the season as the attention turns to League Cup action on Sunday, Maidenhead United are the visitors to the Sports Hub as the Grecians aim to make it three successive wins at the Exwick venue.
Maidenhead United have had a difficult summer, with the departure of Manager Ryan Taylor forcing the Berkshire club into a late start to the new campaign. The Magpies played their first fixture this past Sunday, a 4-0 defeat at Portishead giving the team a chance to finally begin preparations for the season ahead.
Despite the uncertain summer, key players such as Simone OโBrien, Chrissy Nazif, Vicky Carvill and Captain Amy Saunders have all remained at the Club.
United took all three league points on their last visit to Devon, a Simone OโBrien goal giving a single goal victory on a frustrating afternoon for the Grecians. The League Cup first round will decide upon which team enters the Plate Competition, one in which City reached the Quarter Finals last year, and which team enters the League Cup Competition.
City will simply be looking to keep that winning feeling heading into an important autumn period, with a top of the table clash at St James Park against AFC Bournemouth just over a week away.
Abbie Britton and Aaron Wakley may choose to rotate an impressive and competitive squad, with players all fighting for places. After a disappointing defeat at Cardiff last weekend, the team will be aiming to bounce back with a strong home performance and start their cup campaigns for the season with a win.
