Manager Gary Caldwell has praised his side as they scored a 93rd minute winner to secure three points against Reading.
Will Aimson's header and a stoppage time wonderstrike from Reece Cole either side of Harvey Knibb's effort won it for the Grecians, who end the day second in the league.
"It was a sensational performance from start to finish," Gary said.
"In the first half we were outstanding and it was the best half of football we've played since I've been at the club. We were dominant against a team that was in the Championship last season and have won their last two matches. The disapointment was to not be further ahead, and to half conceded just before the break.
"We lost a bit of control in the second half but credit to them, we still create chances and it was a fantastic strike. Reece has had difficult times in football but he has always had that quality and he has really worked hard all pre-season.
"I was delighted when I saw it was Reece on the edge of the box."
