Gary Caldwell has given his thoughts as City prepare to take on Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium on Saturday.
As the transfer window edges to a close, with just over a day remaining, Caldwell is clear on what he expects over the period following Sam Nombe's departure to Rotherham United.
"I expect it will be busy and there will be a lot of phonecalls," Gary said.
"We're very clear on what we need to do and what we want to try and do. Marcus is working extremely hard behind the scenes, so I'm hopeful that when the window closes we're in a good position as a football club.
"Our targets have always been very clear."
There will be familiar faces in the opposition line-up on Saturday, with four former Grecians in the Burton Albion squad, and Gary expects a difficult test.
"Those players will be motivated against us, so we know it will be a tough game. We didn't manage to score their last season. We know what awaits us."
