Gary Caldwell has praised his side as they overcame a penalty shoot-out against Stevenage to reach the Third Round of the Carabao Cup for the first time since 1989.
Alex Hartridge's first goal in just shy of three years put City in charge, but were pegged back in the second half by a Jordan Roberts header before five perfect penalties sent City through.
"It was fantastic performance once again, a great effort in a really difficult game," Gary said.
"We have treated the competition with the utmost respect with the teams we have picked. We were tested but we remained calm and our penalties were fantastic. We deserved to win the game but we couldn't kill it off.
"You always run the risk, the way Stevenage play, and we didn't defend one cross and paid the price.
"The game went right to wire and thankfully we got through."
