Exeter City kick-off the 23/24 EFL Sky Bet League One season on Saturday with a trip to face Wycombe Wanderers at Adams Park
City will be looking to kick-off the season in style with one of our shorter trips of the season (yep, three hours is a short journey for the Grecians!)
The Chairboys have had a productive pre-season campaign, going unbeaten in their five matches, beating Arsenal U21s 1-0, Aldershot Town 2-1 and Wealdstone 1-0.
City last headed to Adams Park back in March, picking up a point thanks to Kevin McDonalds goal after a strong performance.
Gary Caldwell's Thoughts
City were the opponents for Wycombe boss Matt Bloomfield first home match in charge last season, and Caldwell expects the Chairboys to make tweaks after a first pre-season under Bloomfield's his belt.
"From what I've seen there only seems to be subtle changes, I don't think there's been a shift in how they play. They are still fairly direct," Gary said.
"I would say that at their home ground they will want to create energy and momentum by putting you under pressure. We have analysed their pre-season games - but it's never easy, you don't have a bank of games you can watch to find tactical principles they use, but we've looked into as much as we can.
"Wycombe are a side who always compete in the top end of this league. I felt last year when we went there we played well in terms of performance. We know what to expect and we know what we need to do to get the win."
