City defender Zak Jules has shared his fondest memories of his former Reading academy boss Eamonn Dolan, ahead of the game against the Royals that see his life remembered with a minutes applause.
Dolan was a key figure for both clubs, and Jules credits the Irishman for playing a huge part in his early career.
"He was a very intense character and someone who always pushed you to be the best you can be. I remember there were times when he would see the abilities in players that they wouldn't see themselves and he'd push them to their limits to show them their potential," Zak said.
"He wanted players to be the best versions of themselves - but above all be really good people. Eamonn called me into his office once and gave me a note about realising the potential I have, and I still have that note."
Speaking about the task ahead, Zak added: "This will be a good test to see where we are at. Of course, we need to show up and be on song, if you don't turn up against teams like this it can dismantle what you've worked on.
"We are ready to go out and complete as a collective."
