Gary Caldwell has given his reaction as the Grecians secured their first home three points since November with a 2-0 win over Cambridge United.
An Archie Collins header and a luscious Kevin McDonald effort from just inside the 18-yard box gave Caldwell's side a deserved victory which could have been by a greater margin.
"I'm delighted with out intent from the start and I think you could see what we worked on in training," Caldwell said post match.
"I'm so much happier when you see what we worked on coming into fruition. We looked a real threat going forward - but being picky I think we could have scored more!
"The message all week was that possession is there for a purpose and when we got higher up we took more risks to play it through gaps. I'm delighted with how the players went about the day and it was a fantastic three points.
"I thought we had total control and why I didn't make a sub until the last five minutes, because I didn't want to disrupt what we had."
