Gary Caldwell has given his thoughts as City prepare to take on Charlton Athletic at SJP this Saturday, with as many as five new signings able to make their first appearances on home turf.
Of Gary's January purchases, only Joe White has set foot on the SJP turf so far, with Caldwell arranging a training session at the stadium on Thursday afternoon for the new players to get a feel for their surroundings.
"The pitch is in incredible condition which meant we could train on it," Gary said.
"There were a number of reasons. We went through some stuff with the players in a classroom environment that we can't do at the training ground, so we utilised the space at the stadium, but most importantly it was for the new players to get a feel for their new surroudnings and getting used to the pitch so they are ready for Saturday."
Turning attentions to Saturday's opponents, Caldwell expects a similar challenge to the one the Grecians faced last weekend.
"They play the same as MK Dons, a 4-3-3. They are a little more direct and with dangerous wide men, and we have to be prepared out of possession. I know their manager really well and he's made a big impact since he came in."
