Harry Kite has assessed City's 1-0 defeat at Burton Albion on Saturday.
Kite was deployed at a new position of right-wing-back for the clash at the Pirelli Stadium having impressed Caldwell during an in-house training match in the week, and could have scored in Staffordshire had it not been for a great save from the Burton goalkeeper.
"The lesson we have learnt today is that we have to take our chances," Harry said.
"But we can be proud of the performance. We dominated large parts of the game and their goal has come from one set piece, which we knew was a strength of theirs.
"We had to take our chances when we were on top but there were lots of pleasing factors about the performance. The manager has told us to keep our heads up.
"If we had got in front we'd have gone on to win the game."
