Wow! What an incredible effort from everyone! Our Boxing Day match against Portsmouth has seen your generosity raised a total of £1,828.66 for Marcus Stewart and Peter Eveleigh's respective fundraisers following their Motor Neurone Disease diagnoses.
This is the cash total collected through our bucket donations on match day, which means the real total is much higher when online donations are taken into account!
These donations will go a huge way to help fund research for a cure for Motor Neurone Disease through charities such as the Motor Neurone Disease Association and the Darby Rimmer Foundation and everyone is extremely thankful to our supporters, and those from Portsmouth, for their generosity, particularly in the current difficult financial times.
The total amount will now be split 50/50 between Marcus Stewart's fundraiser for the Darby Rimmer Foundation and Pete Eveleigh's fundraiser, which was set up to support Pete's family with future medical costs.
We would also like to thank several players from both City and Portsmouth for their kind donation of match worn kit and boots, which will be auctioned off later this year.
