📝 Match Preview: Portsmouth (A)

Exeter City aim to make it five matches unbeaten in the league as we head to Fratton Park to face Portsmouth this Saturday.

With two away wins in a row, the Grecians head to Hampshire in good form following but will face a difficult test against a side that held City to a goalless draw on Boxing Day.

City were also held to a draw in their last match - 1-1 at home to Forest Green - while Pompey were beaten 3-0 at Bolton under the stewardship of interim manager Simon Bassey, who is steering the ship following the departure of the Cowley brothers earlier this month. They were relieved of their duties following a run of nine matches without a win.

Gary Caldwell's Thoughts

"Since our Boxing Day game, Portsmouth have played a number of formations, they might have a new manager, so we have to prepare for different scenarios that may come up in the game," Caldwell said.

"But as I say every week the main thing is how we approach the game and how we play. Even though we're away, we have to be aggressive with and without the ball and that is the most important thing.

"We obviously have to prepared for the challenges Portsmouth will bring. On the day that could be anything but we're ready for that."
