✍️ Beth Ireland signs for City Women

Exeter City Women have completed their third signing of the week as talented midfielder Beth Ireland joins from Plymouth Argyle.

Ireland came through the Cornish FA Advanced Coaching Centre and made her Argyle debut at seventeen years of age. Ireland played sixty-three times for the Greens, scoring seven times, including a consolation strike against the Grecians in the 2021 Devon County Cup Final.

The versatile midfielder will be attending Exeter University from September and follows Zoe Cunningham and Amber Pollock in making the move up the A38 this Summer.

Joint City Manager Aaron Wakley is excited to work with City’s latest signing. “Beth has played over fifty games in Tier three, which is a strong foundation for any young player. We see Beth’s signing as similar to Jenna last year, a player who has played their part at a higher league club but can really flourish at Exeter City. The squad we have this year is undoubtedly the best one yet and competition for places will be strong, signings like Beth only add to our belief that this is going to be an exciting season.”
