City midfielder Kyle Taylor has suffered a setback in his return from a serious knee injury, following a separate ankle injury picked up in pre-season training.
Taylor was injured in a match at Oldham Athletic in March 2022, rupturing his cruciate ligament and damaging his medial ligament, but had made good progress in his recovery. It was hoped he would play ten minutes during Tuesday's win at Mousehole, but damaged his ankle in Monday's session.
Gary Caldwell has given an update on Kyle: "It is so disappointing because he has been outstanding in pre-season. He has done everything we have asked of him and done extra gym sessions to get his knee in a good place - he was looking really good.
"Late in the session on Monday he went over on his ankle. We expect this to be a 3-4 week injury, and if anyone knows how to come back from something like this it is him given his last 18 months. Hopefully he will be back very soon."
Keep going, KT 👊
