Gary Caldwell has praised his side following a 1-1 draw at Wycombe Wanderers, where on another day the Grecians could have run our comfortable winners.
Kevin McDonald's second goal in a week meant it was a share of the spoils after City fell behind to a 2nd minute Chem Campbell goal, but the Grecians controlled most of the game and were unlucky not to have taken all three at Adams Park.
"It feels like an injustice that we've only got a point," Gary said.
"I thought we were outstanding from start to finish - one of the best starts we've had yet we find ourselves 1-0 down early. We learnt from a mistake.
"Away from home it could be so easy to panic and play the game Wycombe wanted us to but we stayed strong and kept belief in our own identity. We kept playing a created chances.
"It was a thoroughly deserved equaliser and on another day we go on to win that game."
