We are delighted to announce that Mitch Beardmore has become the latest academy star to sign a professional contract with the club.
18-year-old Beardmore, who has featured seven times in Gary Caldwell first-team match day squad this season, made his first team debut under Kevin Nicholson in a Papa Johns Trophy fixture at Forest Green Rovers in October. He has gained valuable experience amongst the senior group, travelling to the likes of Oxford United and Port Vale. Mitch joined the club in 2020 after the closure of Yeovil Town's academy.
"This is a really great opportunity for me, I'm really grateful to be here and really grateful to the club for trusting my ability," Mitch said.
"I've been on a journey to get here and I'm thankful to Exeter for giving me the opportunity. Every day coming in I've absolutely loved it, and the academy have helped me developed through the years.
"They teach you how to be good people, not just good players. I've been in and around the first team a few times and all the lads are great. It's been such a fun experience and it meant a lot. I look up to a lot of them.
"They are so inspiring."
Brad Miller, Head of Coaching and Player Development added: "First and foremost, Mitch is a fantastic character with an excellent personality and an amazing human being.
"He really suits the style of play we are trying to work with in the academy, and he has has gone from strength to strength here and plays with the ball excellent. He has really thrived off the opportunities here and is taking them really well.
"We're really pleased he has chosen to remain with us and sign a professional contract."
