Our first season back in the third tier after ten years away has certainly been one to remember with some incredible memories made. As we wave goodbye to the campaign for the 2022/23 season and look ahead to the next, now is the perfect time to take a look back at what has certainly been a rollercoaster season.
March - the month where Exeter City Women broke records, and the Big Bank witnessed that goal we had all been waiting for...
- Over 2,500 people pack into the St James Park to watch Exeter City Women beat Portishead Town in the FA Women’s National League South West. It is a new club and league record, showcasing the appetite for women’s football in the south west.
- Jay Stansfield scores his first goal in front of the Big Bank as the Grecians run riot against struggling Accrington. Five separate scorers, including Mitchell’s screamer, resulted in a 5-0 win.
- Just three days later, Stansfield is back in the goals as he sets City on their way to a 3-1 over promotion challenging Barnsley. The Tykes had won ten of their last 12.
