πŸ“ Match Preview: Morecambe (H)

Exeter City's first season back in League One for ten years comes to an end on Sunday as Morecambe make the long trip to SJP.

It'll be a mid-table finish for the Grecians regardless of the outcome against the Shrimps, who need a win to have a chance of third tier survival, well within the City's target for the campaign.

After six straight defeats in the league, Gary Caldwell's side will want to give the home supporters one final thing to cheer about before we all jet off on our summer holidays, with bad memories of that 6-0 loss at Ipswich last week quickly needing put to rest.

It won't be easy though, with Morecambe heading to Devon with an opportunity to retain their League One status. A month ago, Derek Adams' side looked doomed for the drop, but three consecutive wins have clawed them back to within a point of safety - though they will need to win and hope that MK Dons fail to win at Burton. A draw could also be enough, proving that MK Dons lose and Cambridge United fail to win at home to Forest Green.

Gary Caldwell's Thoughts

"We want to finish the season on a high and give our supporters something to cheer about over the summer," Gary said.

"It's about finishing our first season in League One on a high so that next season we come back with the momentum of this game.

"We know Morecambe are in good form and they are playing the same way over the last few games - I'll be very surprised if they change that. But as ever when we're at home, it's about what we do, regardless of who we play.

"If we play to our best, like we did against Barnsley, we can beat any team in this league at this stadium. It could be easy to take the last six games in isolation and be disappointed wioth the season, but when you look at it as a whole it's been brilliant."
