Gary Caldwell has reflected on defeat as City were well-beaten by Arsenal U21's in the second group game of the EFL Trophy.
Five second half goals from the Gunners condemned City to another chastening defeat in the competition, and Caldwell has given an honest assessment.
"I thought it was a good game for an hour," Gary said.
"We had moments to score. Arsenal had possession but weren't hurting us, but when the game becomes difficult we make too many mistakes and we need to do better. It is a difficult moment for us at the moment, we all know that.
"First team players played tonight and got minutes - some of them did well. But again, when the academy players came on it was far too much for them and we have to look at that as a football club.
"The first team players need to be better in lots of actions, but when the academy players came on it was the same finnsh as Reading, so we have a lot of learning to do."
