😊 Matchday Family Fun: Reading (EFL Trophy)

It's football under the lights on Tuesday as City take on Reading in the EFL Trophy group stage in an earlier 7pm kick-off.

It maybe a bit of a toned down matchday, but SJP will have plenty on offer for you pre-match to keep your whole family entertained.

Just take a look at what is available below...

Against Cheltenham the weather stopped a few activities for which we apologise.  But Lez the Fez did not disappoint and will be back with his magic and balloon modelling on October 7 when we play Barnsley.

The weather is looking dry for your rearranged Trophy match with Reading so we will try to make up for lost opportunities.

The Match Day

At a forecast 17c it will still be warm for a September evening. Accepting that it is a school week it presents you an opportunity to get out.  Especially as it is predicted as the only dry day of the week!

Getting to SJP on match days (EX4 6PX – visiting fans EX4 6PU) cannot be easier.

BUS: Local  buses drop off in York Road, Pennsylvania Road, Prince Charles Road, Union Road, Sidwell Street , Old Tiverton Road and Pinhoe Road. Literally all around the stadium. Maximum fare £2 single journey.

RAIL: You can use normal train services from mainline St David’s to St James Park (Exeter) station.  Picking up passenger onto the services from Paignton, Okehampton and North Devon.
For your maximum of £2.60 (free if booking from further afield) there are services at 17:15; 17:39; 18:18; 18:47 and 19:13. With 4 return services starting from 21:51.

DRIVING: Why not use Park & Ride? That said City Centre car parks should be an easier option for you at night but check the boards.  Some are free after 6pm, some charge to 10pm and others charge 24/7. You also need to check the boards for closing times.  Some like King William Street and John Lewis close at 9pm!

On street parking is possible for considerate parkers. But watch signs for a high number of Resident Only schemes.

CYCLING: racks are available at the stadium and throughout Sidwell Street.

ON FOOT: The most environmentally friendly journey and fittest.  Our bars will be opening from 5pm to revive you after your exercise.

Inside the Stadium the kiosks have a range of food, confectionary and drinks available. New for this season the Wrestlers Hot Dogs seem to be a popular buy. If you are in the Navada Construction stand please remember that the JG Zone is open for all at half-time and also has a kiosk. Giving you the opportunity to catch the half time results on their screen while you much your pasty or drink your coffee.
