Gary Caldwell has given his assessment as City returned to the League One summit with a 1-0 win over Cheltenham.
Caleb Watts' debut goal was enough for the Grecians, as they finally managed to grind down a tight and compact Robins outfit.
"The boys have tested my nerves today! It could have been more than one today but we kept going," Gary said.
"The longer it goes without scoring it's easy to think it isn't your day but in the end Caleb came up with a brilliant finish. In truth the second goal being disallowed knocked the stuffing out of us a little as we had all the momentum - but it was half a yard off or so.
"We saw the game out fairly comfortably and all in all I am really happy with the players. The new players made a huge contribution today and I am delighted with their efforts. Neither are fully fit and we are asking a lot lof them.
"Both of them have been training for a over a week and they really understand the group."
