📝 Match Preview: Oxford United (A)

The Grecians are on the road this Saturday, heading to the Kassam Stadium to face Oxford United in a 3pm kick-off in EFL Sky Bet League One.

City will be looking to build on their strong start to the season as they face an Oxford United side that sits in fourth in the League.

Last time out in the League Oxford picked up a fine 3-0 win over Fleetwood Town.

Gary Caldwell's thoughts

City have won four of the last five in League One, and have the chance to win three in a row away from home for the first time since February 2022. Caldwell expects a stern test against a strong Oxford outfit.

"I think Oxford have started really well and I think they're one of the bigger teams in this league," Gary said.

"They've got a big budget and I think they surprised last year when they struggled. They're where I expect them to be now. It'll be challenging but we've been to Wycombe, Carlisle and Burton and shown we are capable of winning on the road, and we know what that takes.

"We're looking forward to a really big challenge. I've had a look at them and think they are a lot more pragmatic than I thought they would be, I thought they'd be more expansive.

"We know what they are good at and how they will try to hurt us, but as in every game we believe we can cause the opposition a lot of problems."
