City under-18s coach Tom Donati has given his thoughts as his side face Cheltenham in league action on Saturday.
It has been a tough week for Donati's youngsters following a 4-0 defeat at Bristol Rovers, before several of his players featured in the 9-0 loss to Reading in the EFL Trophy.
"Hopefully the players will use this tough experience to see where they want to be, and for them to live and breathe adversity. Hopefully they will use this as a mechanism to be better," he said.
"Myself and Gary have conversations all the time and our thoughts are aligned, and anything said to them is far more powerful coming from them.
"But we have an opportunity to out things right this weekend. Cheltenham will be a very similar side to Bristol Rovers. We have to make some changes to what we have been doing to personnel and to shape, so it will be interesting to see how the boys respond.
"I expect a reaction from the lads. We are here to support them, so we expect a positive reaction and for them to step forward."
