Assistant manager Kevin Nicholson has given his thoughts ahead of City's penultimate home game of the season against Stevenage on Saturday.
The Grecians come into the game having picked up 11 points from the last five matches and face a Stevenage side on the cusp of the play-off places, though Steve Evans' side have gone seven matches without a win.
Both matches in league and cup this season have finished 1-1 - City succeeding on penalties in the Carabao Cup - and Nicho expects another tight encounter.
"They do not concede many goals, and are very good at what they do. We have found a way to hang in there with them at their place when we went down to ten men," Nicho said.
"That's probably what happens when you get clashes of style. The games have been tight and I expect both sides to stick to their styles and give it a good go.
"Steve [Evans] is a manager who knows his way and knows how he wants things done. Between him and Paul Raynor they coach it well, so credit to everyone involved there. On Saturday you will see that clash of styles which will be interesting from a coaches point of view and it is something we have to be ready for.
"They have some physical and agressive players we have to try and neutralise."
