Exeter City Women face another big afternoon in their hunt for promotion as Bridgwater United visit the Exwick Sports Hub on Sunday afternoon (2pm Kick Off)
Grant Fisher’s side have undergone a season of transition since last year's relegation, a positive second half of their campaign underlining that the Robins are a side on the up. One defeat in the last six has seen the Somerset side rise up the table to sixth, a spell that has seen victories over Southampton Women’s FC, Torquay United and Swindon Town.
Ellie Bishop has been in consistent form this year, hitting ten goals, supported by Beth Everson and Chloe Snook, United will possess a goal threat on Sunday. Everson, Keely Banfield and Goalkeeper Ellie Mitchell have impressed opposition manager’s this campaign, picking up a collection of Player of the Match Awards between them.
Tho two sides met on the opening day of the season, Zoe Watkins hitting four in a 5-1 City victory, Jenna Markham with the other Grecians goal.
Abbie Britton and Aaron Wakley’s side are just three games from the title, currently holding a two-point advantage over rivals AFC Bournemouth, and there can be no room for error for City. Only wins will do and in a busy weekend this game will be pivotal to the Grecians title challenge.
