We are delighted to announce that Yanic Wildschut has triggered a clause in his contract to extend his stay at the club until the end of the 2024/25 season.
The Suriname international joined the club in September 2023 and has made 35 appearances this season in and red and white, scoring twice and has had a big input on the squad this season.
"It was an easy decision for me to make," Yanic said on signing the new deal.
"I've really enjoyed my time here, especially the second half of this season where we have been doing really well and I can't wait to continue this next season.
"I'm really happy to be staying another year. My son says he doesn't want us to leave until the end of primary school! So I don't think Exeter will get rid of me that easily.
"My family really enjoy it here and it's a nice place to be. Football is the most important thing but the family like it so that's a plus.
"Gary said to me that I have to stay! We spoke about my role as a player and what I can do on and off the pitch. He has always been good to me - from when I was at Wigan to here - and I hold him in really high regard. I will always be thankful for the opportunities he has given me.
"I can't wait to have a full pre-season under my belt."
