Exeter City's grounds team have been highly commended by the EFL for the 23/24 season.
The awards celebrate the staff who work tirelessly throughout the season, and in all weathers, to ensure that pitch surfaces are of the highest quality.
Pitches are assessed by the referee for all EFL League matches. The top Clubs from each division with the highest divisional average are then visited by members of the team from STRI (Sports Turf Research Institute), where further assessments are carried out, which cover pitch quality, environmental conditions and usage, resources, management and sustainability.
The award for the League One grounds team of the year went to Carlisle United, with City and champions Portsmouth being highly commended for the quality of their pitches!
The pitch at St James Park has been in immaculate conditon all season, congratulations to Chaz, Pat and Ryan and his team of volunteers on this fantastic recognition.
