“It’s been a dream start for us, if you had offered us six points at the start we would’ve taken it,” Abbie said. “But nothing’s won in September, we’ve got to remember that and keep the girls grounded.”
“Watching their clips and seeing their results come in from their first two games, they’ve played some really tough fixtures early doors and we’re under no illusions this is going to be a huge step up for us.”
Wednesday's 8-1 win against Portishead showed the quality that runs through Abbie's squad, with nine changes made to the starting lineup from Sunday's victory against Lewes.
“We’ve got a fully healthy squad, they’re ready to go, their competition for places in training has been electric, everybody in training is chomping at the bit to get one of those shirts.
“We’ve got 20 plyers and it’s my job to leave two out every week and even from then, two won’t play. It’s an incredibly talented squad and one we need for games like this weekend.”
