City no.3 Ben Purrington has given his thoughts ahead of the Grecians' trip to Bristol Rovers in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy, fresh from his first league 90 minutes of the season at Huddersfield on Saturday.
Despite the defeat, Purrington was pleased to be back on the pitch after limited game time, and hopes he can play further minutes on Tuesday night as City look to secure top spot in Group G.
"It's going to be a really good opportunity to get more minutes in the legs, and of course it is competition football so there is a lot on it."
"I know we're already through but obviously a good result will get us a home tie and then we can have a nice draw and hopefully get into the next round after that,
"We will do our best to prepare for the game but you never really know what kind of team you will be up against in these competitions."
