Cans4City support Colitis & Crohns UK

Jack&Jack with cheque for £300 for Colitis UK

Cans4CIty, the recycling scheme which turns empty aluminium cans and tins into funds for the club, has made it's latest donation to an important cause, giving £300 to Crohn's & Colitis UK.

City defender Jack Fitzwater revealed his colitis diagnosis in February this year, and he was joined by men's first team sports science intern Jack Craigie, who has Crohn's, to receive the cheque from Cans4City.

Fitzwater's story resonated with many, who shared their own diagnosis, and even encouraged one young Grecian to return to watch at St James Park, after months of being too embarrassed to attend matches, and Cans4City were delighted to use the funds raised from their latest recycling haul to help support the work of Crohn's & Colitis UK.

"This donation continues the principles of Cans4City in which we help the club, the wider community and any charities or organisations which are supported by players or fans."
Andy Holloway, club volunteer and Cans4City founder
