Tonight’s 1-1 draw with Weston-super-Mare included another 45 minutes in the first team for Charlie Cummins, who reacted to City’s second pre-season friendly.
“It was good to get a run out again, another 45 minutes in the tank.
“The opposition were a good standard, tough to play against, fit and gave us no time on the ball. I thought I did okay though, played well.”
Charlie’s partner in midfield was a man 23 years his senior in the form of David Perkins, and he enjoyed the experience of playing alongside his coach.
“Perks was an assistant coach just on the pitch, he was telling everyone what to do but I really enjoyed it.
“He helped me a lot throughout the game, it was good.”
