Gary Caldwell has given his thoughts ahead of the Grecians' trip to Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.
City make the trip to the Toughsheet Community Stadium looking to bounce-back from two straight league defeats at Northampton and at home to Peterborough, but Caldwell expects another tough afternoon.
"I'd say they've probably got even better from last season. Their ball possession is different in terms of how they set up this year. We have to be ready and play with personality and try and dominate the ball - but we are against a team with the second best possession stats in the league behind Birmingham.
"We have to be be brave on the ball and out of possession we have to be secure and understand how we are going to press. Away from home we have to play with a belief and a control, and when you do that it can get the home fans on their backs."
