Gary Caldwell reacts to Leyton Orient defeat

GC post Orient interview

Gary Caldwell has offered an apology to supporters after an 'embarrassing' 6-2 home defeat to Leyton Orient on Tuesday night.

On an evening to forget, City were put to the sword after a lax defensive display, coupled with the opponents' ruthlessness, saw the Grecians suffer a heavy home loss.

"It's embarrassing to be honest, and we are really disappointed. We gave the game away straight away yet again - we showed fight in the second half but then throw away momentum again."

"I apologise to the supporters that came tonight, and now we have to do better quickly. I take responsibility for the result and I need to do better to bring reinforcements into the team before next Monday. We have got 18 big games to go.

"We have to better at competing and we got completely outdone. We did nothing to stop them, and they are 3-0 up without feeling like they've have had to do a lot.

"We have tried a different system tonight but systems don't matter if you don't compete. If you don't do that you never get a foothold in the game and now we have to find a system with the group we have before we hopefully bring in players before the weekend."
