Exeter City manager Gary Caldwell has reacted as the Grecians came from a goal behind to draw 1-1 at Rotherham United.

Alex Hartridge's first ever league goal for City levelled the game in the second half after the Millers took the lead before the break, and he was pleased with the endeavour from the players to ensure they had something to take back to Devon.

"When you come away at this level, especially to a team that got relegated last season, then it is always a hard earned point."

"I felt in the first half we were the better team and created good opportunities, and if anyone should have been leading at half-time it should have been us, so to go in a goal down was hugely disappointing.

"The players were fantastic in the second half, the way they came out and fought and got back into the game with Alex Hartridge's first league goal, which he has told me, and on his right foot which is incredible.

"We created the best chance at 1-1 with big Josh, and he just couldn't get it on target, but the whole team spirit and togetherness to defend the box when we were put under pressure was fantastic."
